General Questions
What are the main differences between the Passive, Active, and Managed plans?
The Passive plan is ideal for individuals who are not actively seeking new opportunities but wish to remain visible in our database. The Active plan suits those actively promoting themselves, offering features like a publicly displayed profile and the ability to apply for positions. The Managed plan provides comprehensive support, including enhanced profile visibility, content creation, and proactive outreach to potential employers.
Is there a minimum commitment period for any of the plans?
All our plans operate on a month-to-month basis, allowing you the flexibility to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel as your needs change, provided you let us know before your next schedule membership payment. Only the Marketing Support add-on and the Managed plan require a 3 month commitment, after this you can cancel anytime.
How does the revenue share work for each membership plan?
The revenue share decreases as the plans costs increase. The Passive plan is a 30% revenue share, the Active is a 20% revenue share, and the Managed plan is a 15% revenue share. The revenue is the hourly rate that you will receive from an engagement.
Are there any additional fees beyond the monthly subscription costs?
Active and Managed memberships include a $50 application fee in your first month’s membership. If your application is unsuccessful, the first month’s membership fee is refundable minus this application fee.

What are the benefits of choosing this free membership over a paid plan?
It really depends on your personal situation and whether or not you are actively looking for your next engagement. The paid programs are designed to help you find more opportunity.
What are the limitations of this free membership? When should I upgrade?
Most of our members move their paid subscription to Free when they are no longer looking for opportunities, but wanting to stay part of the network. Others leave the paid subscription on as to ensure they cast as wide a net as possible.
Active Membership ($49/mth)
What does '24/7 Profile Visibility' mean?
It means your profile will be listed in the platform on the front-end of the platform and viewable by external parties. Passive member profiles are available only on the back-end and viewable by our team members only.
How does the 'Custom URL' benefit me?
A personalized URL allows you to share your professional profile easily across various platforms, enhancing your online presence and making it simpler for potential employers to view your qualifications. No need to build your own website, leverage your URL!
How does 'ICP Development Work' work?
We will work directly with you to help identify your target customer, based upon an intake form, and will develop initial customer contact lists.
How often will my profile be featured in the 'Free Agent Spotlight'?
Once as the official profile on the spotlight, but your profile will remain listed on future publications.

How does 'Peer Networking' work and what's included?
Suggested introductions and meet-ups with other fractional executives in the platform based on skill set.
What if I don't want my profile featured on the front page of the website (Premium Visibility)?
Then you can alert us and we will be sure your profile is not featured publicly.
How does the process work for 'Personalized Monthly Content' and what is the benefit?
It’s all about exposure. We will create content on your behalf, share it for your review, and use our blog and social channels to help push out your agenda!
What is involved in the 'Targeted Outreach'?
We conduct targeted outreach on your behalf, sending 10-20 prospect emails weekly to companies that align with your Ideal Client Profile, thereby increasing your exposure to potential opportunities.

How do I apply for positions on the website?
All members can browse jobs on our platform and sort them by discipline, industry, location. However only members with Active or Managed memberships can apply.
If you come across a job on our platform that looks like a good fit for you, simply click the ‘Apply’ button and submit your profile for review along with an optional personalized message which we will pass onto our client. If you have a Passive membership and see a position that appeals to you on our platform, please consider upgrading to an Active or Managed membership instead.
Jobs on our platform have the contact details of our clients obfuscated for privacy and cannot be applied for directly.
How can I keep my profile on The Free Agent private so my current employer can't see it?
By default, all profiles are hidden and only visible to other members on our platform. You also have the option to hide your profile from other members.
Active and Managed members have the option of sharing their profile URLs publicly and Managed members even have the opportunity to have their profile featured on the frontend of our website for maximum visibility. However this is entirely optional.
How does your vetting process work for Active and Managed memberships?
Active and Managed members are vetted two times; once up-front and once again prior to being introduced to a prospective client. Once vetted, your profile will be shown with a ‘vetted’ icon and can be filtered into a special talent pool, even if you downgrade your membership at a later date.
Vetting consists of a 15-20 min interview via video call with a member of our team (Google Meet, Zoom etc.)
Free Agents who are unsuccessful after the first vetting session will have their initial payment refunded, minus a $50 application fee.
What happens if my application for a position on your platform is successful? What is your fee structure?
The fee structure is commensurate with the membership level you choose:
- Passive: We mark up your hourly rate by 30%.
- Active: We mark up your hourly rate by 20%.
- Managed: We mark up your hourly rate by 15%.
What happens if I turn out not to be the right fit for a position and need to resign or am let go?
You will be paid all fees up to the time you are officially given notice of your dismissal or a date agreed upon between you and our client, usually within 30 days. We will help mediate the conditions of your dismissal and do our best to resolve any grievances, but cannot make any guarantees.
Depending on the conditions of your dismissal, you will likely be allowed to remain on our platform, apply for new positions and continue to take advantage of all the features our membership has to offer.
Dismissal due to behaviour that goes against our terms & conditions may result in instant removal and a lifetime ban from our platform. No fees will be refunded.
Do I need to maintain my membership once I have secured a position?
You can upgrade or downgrade your membership anytime on our platform, so long as it’s before your next scheduled debit. If you have an Active or Managed membership, you may choose to downgrade to Passive (our mark-up on your hourly rate will not be affected whilst your continue to maintain the original position).
No fees will be refunded or prorated when switching memberships, but downgrading is a good way to save on fees while maintaining a position.

Can we switch between plans if our hiring needs change?
Yes, our membership plans are flexible. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan as your hiring requirements evolve. Please contact our support team to assist with any changes.
How does the billing process work for your services?
Our billing is straightforward. Depending on your chosen membership plan and any additional services, you’ll receive a monthly invoice detailing the charges. For companies utilizing our billing support add-on, we handle invoicing and collections related to candidate engagements, simplifying your administrative processes.
Is there a discount if we need to fill multiple different positions?
Absolutely- Happy to work through a scenario where multiple resources are needed.
Is there a fee for accessing The Free Agent's candidate network?
No- fees only apply after a successful placement.
How/when is payment made/determined?
Payment on contract workers is due on the 1st and 15th of each month and the free agent will pay the contractor within 3 days of receiving payment from the client. Payment on the full-time side of the house is due 14 days after start date.

This is simply the average hourly market rate we are currently seeing.
What are the 'Available Time Blocks' for and what do they include?
You can buy a one-time bucket of 5 hours, or have an on-going engagement increments of 5 hours.
What are the benefits and limitations of the Flexible membership? When should we upgrade?
Depends on your needs-The flexible option is for contract labor whereas the other options are for full-time needs.

What does the '90/120 Day Guarantee' cover?
For full-time placement only- we will guarantee the candidates for the aforementioned times, and will replace a candidate if they are removed for performance.
How do we interact with our 'Dedicated Recruiter'? What will be their responsibilities?
There will be a professional discovery call where the expectations and process will be clearly laid out.
What happens during a 'Vetting Session' and what's included in the Executive Summary?
A 360 degree discussion on the candidates qualifications for the open role. The executive summary will clearly lay out their background, experience, and why they are the perfect fit for your open role.
How do the Personality Assessment, Background Screen and Reference Check work?
They are only included in the platinum bucket and are performed once we move to offer stage.

How does The Free Agent vet its candidates?

How do we engage with candidates through The Free Agent platform?
Once you’ve identified potential candidates, you can reach out to them directly through our platform to express interest, request more information, or schedule interviews. Our platform facilitates seamless communication between your company and prospective hires.
Why would someone choose full-time over fractional or interim?
Really depends on the company’s budget and where they are in their lifecycle. Part of our job is to help suss out the need and which type of resource will be best fitted for the challenge at hand. Our goal is to maximize value not margin.
Can a contractor be rolled permanently?
This is no problem and very standard- we prorate the aforementioned fees over a 6 month period and have a standard table in our agreements.
Are contract workers only available in 40 hour increments?
Absolutely not- we have a multitude of workers that are interested in working on their time table and the obligation is ultimately up to our client and the contractor to determine what works best for each party. We have contractors working 5 hours per week and many that are working 10, 20, and even 30 hours.
What are the typical contract periods?
We see a myriad of periods with month-to-month and 6 months being our two most popular. Ultimately the contract period is open and dependant on our clients needs and contractors availability.
How long does it typically take to have candidates rolling in?
This depends on the actual need, but generally within 1-2 weeks we will begin funneling vetted candidates for your review and approval.
